    Tatiana Trouvé
    née en 1968 à Cosenza (Italie), vit à Paris
    Aborder l’œuvre de Tatiana Trouvé, c’est pénétrer au cœur du processus créatif, c’est découvrir la part individuelle mais aussi collective du travail de l’artiste en prenant acte des conditions administratives et économiques de son existence.
    Tatiana Trouvé a d’abord construit un bureau, le Bureau d’activités implicites à partir duquel se développent plusieurs cellules ou modules : module administratif, cellule des Archives, des Titres d’œuvres à venir, des Réminiscences ou des Fantômes qui hantent l’artiste, des Lapsus qu’elle collectionne, mur des Refus auxquels elle se heurte, soigneusement classés et conservés. En multipliant les “Tâches à finalité improbable“, Tatiana Trouvé opère un démontage minutieux de cette machine sociale que constitue l’activité artistique.

    Niek van de Steeg
    né en 1961 à Renkum (Pays-Bas), vit à Lyon
    En 1992, Niek van de Steeg ouvre un chantier de grande ampleur : celui de la Très Grande Administration Démocratique. Projet de société utopique, la TGAD est d’abord un vaste ensemble architectural qui se développe dans des contextes précis, celui de l’exposition permettant en particulier de créer une nouvelle pièce constitutive de la TGAD. Le domaine de l’architecture impliquant des enjeux politiques, économiques et sociaux, la TGAD est aussi une machine à penser la démocratie avec ses systèmes, ses fonctions, ses instances de décisions.

    born in 1968 in Cosenza (Italy), lives in Paris
    Entering into Tatiana Trouvé’s work is to penetrate into the heart of the creative process. It is to discover the individual component but also the collective component of the artist’s work by taking note of the administrative and economic conditions of her existence.
    First, Tatiana Trouvé constructs an office, the Bureau d’activités implicites(The Office of Implicit Activities), from which extend several smaller spaces or modules : the administrative module, the Archives, the Titres (Titles) of works to come, Reminiscences or the Phantoms that haunt the artist, the Lapsus (Written Malapropisms) she collects, the wall of Refus (Refusals) against which she struggles — all carefully classified and maintained. By multiplying the Tâches à finalité improbable (Tasks Doubtful to be Finished), Tatiana Trouvé minutely dismantles this social machine that constitutes artistic activity.

    born in 1961 in Renkum, Holland, lives in Lyon
    In 1992, Niek van de Steeg embarked on an enormous project, the Très Grande Administration Démocratique (Very Large Democratic Administration). A project for a utopian society, the TGAD is first of all a vast architectural ensemble which is developed within precise contexts, the context of this exhibition in particular allows the artist to create a new constituent part of the TGAD. Since the field of architecture encompasses political, economic and social concerns, the TGAD is also an engine for reflecting about Democracy with its systems, its functions, its instances for decisions.
